Love me some lavash bread

Tuesday, February 23, 2010

Well it is Tuesday which means it is no longer Monday but now one day closer to Hump Day :)

My Tuesday morning started out with a lovely yogurt mess with Vanilla Brown Cow yogurt, Kashi Go Lean, sliced banana, and PB & Co. DCD on top with milk on the side!

It was the perfect breaky that fueled me through my theology test this morning at 8:30am! I just hope I did well on it ;)

After my test and two classes later I came back and had lunch.

Turkey and swiss on Joseph's Lavash Bread with an apple, popchips, and milk.

Instead of the usual wheat wrap I decided to get the lavash bread! I totally forgot how good lavash bread is, it is soo fresh and is my new favorite!

I also tried the Sea Salt & Vinegar Popchips. I was very hesitant on trying this flavor because I have never really liked salt & vinegar chips so I wasn't sure I was going to like these. But hey, I decided to give them a try and I ended up liking them! This flavor is strong, they are very salty and have a lot of vinegar but overall tasty. If you like Salt & Vinegar chips then you will LOVE these chips, trust me!

Now I only have one bag of popchips left and it is only the original flavor :( Boo! No more cool flavors to try out but I am sure the original will be great chips to dip into something or on the side with a sandwich ;)

Spring Break starts this Friday...only 3 more days!!

Well I am going to be somewhat studious this afternoon and get some work done, maybe get some reading done for Nursing but who knows?! I will probs just end up doing anything but homework ;)

Hope you have a great rest of your Tuesday :)

Have you ever tried lavash bread before?!

i never have, but it looks really good on here! what is it that you love about it? looks like a fabulous day of food :)

I love lavash! I get the kind at Trader Joe's and use it for wraps. It holds more than a tortilla and is especially good after a couple minutes on the stovetop!

thank you anon-i was unaware of the calorie content. i just assumed they are the same as a regular wrap, but you say they are not?
i order from the dining hall so it's not like i have the nutrition label right in front of me like when i do at home so it is always hard while at school to know the nutrition facts about food, ya know?!

Jenna said...

omg katie! pizza on lavash bread sounds delicious-must give that a try :)
haha i know i saw on your blog you had the salt and vinegar pop chips and i was like hey i have that flavor and haven't tried it, so i mine as well give it a try! the flavor was very strong but i really liked them!

heather- lavash bread is just so soft and fresh!
you gotta try it soon!

Yes, it only has 50 calories in it. Joseph's is known to make low calorie bread items. 50 calories is for half the lavash, which I assume is what your dining hall uses. A regular wrap will provide you with better nutritional stats.

dude girl those things look sooooooooooooooooooooooo good. obsessed. have a great day and i hope it's atleast sunny there-like it is here!!

Lavash is amazing...it's also good sprayed with a little olive oil spray and then blistered really quickly in a hot pan. I know you don't have that at school...but just a thought for home and future cooking endeavors!! :)

I've never tried lavash bread before, but now I want to!!! You got me interested as soon as you said "soft and fresh". I'm on a break from school right now because of the olympics. My break is ending just as yours is beginning! Even though I'm ready to go back to school I'm kinda jealous that you are going to be having fun while I'm in classes. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side!

hey jenna...
ok SUPER random question. Do you use a tablespoon measuring thing to scoop your PB or do you just use a spoon? just curious! haha because your PB scoops always look so perfect in your pictures! :)

Hope you're having great tuesday!!

Sara- no I am just that perfect ;) haha! No I'm kidding- but yeah I do measure my pb out with a tablespoon and then scoop it out with my spoon and put it on top of my yogurt mess! That's why it looks so perfect :)

Forgive me for being blunt. You are recovering from an eating disorder and you are eating a "yogurt mess" for breakfast? Every morning? Not only is that repetitive, but not nearly enough calories. basically it's just a bunch of junk thrown in a bowl and stirred up.

Lavash bread is extremely low in calories, and for milk, you should be drinking 2% or above, not 1% low fat. You should be trying t gain weight, not maintain or lose.

I seriously hope you are still getting some sort of hlp for this eating disorder, because it's obvious you still have it full on. You are basically eating all "diet" food here.

That "yogurt mess" or whatever it's called, is not appealing looking, nor would it have enough calories to fuel you through a morning.

You are extremely thin and need to eat enough calories to gain.

Please get some help.

yes i have a yogurt mess pretty much everyday. if i enjoy it and it works then why change it?! although i am currently working on changing my eats and i have been lately but just not breakfast yet.
this is not all of the food i eat during the day. there is a lot of food i do not picture just because i am soo busy while at school but i try my hardest to post as much foodie pics as i can.
and i am currently seeking help from my outpatient team.
and i was just curious as to how you even know how thin i really am because i NEVER post pictures of myself on my blog?!?!?!

Will you post a dinner? You have not posted on in a while. Just curious.. Is it still grilled chicken, steamed veggies, and a roll??

Jenna said...

Ok I apologize for not posting my dinners- you really want to see them?!
Umm and yeah i have Been having different meals for a matter of fact- but I really like to enjoy eating my dinners with my girls rather than snapping pics all the time- but sometimes when I do get the chance I will snap one.

i was never a fan of salt and vinegar chips (don't even think i tried them, just the smell turned me off) but i love popchips so maybe i'd like these! i LOVE lavash bread, there's this afghan food company at the farmer's market that sells whole wheat lavash, so good! i eat it toasted and plain, like a pita chip!

What happened to your morning snacks? If you can't fit it in because of classes, you really should be doubling up somewhere else. It seems nothing has changed from last week.
