Happy New Year!

Thursday, December 31, 2009

I would like to wish all of you a Happy New Year! Good bye 2009 and Hello 2010! Can you believe it is already 2010?!

So last night I babysat my two cousins as I told you. It was a pretty easy and fun night. We baked literally 50 chocolate chip cookies (no joke!) and then watched Princess Protection Program, a movie on Disney channel and then Dinner:Impossible on Food Network which my cousins absolutely loved!

To be quite honest I actually don't know what I am doing tonight! I think I am probably going out to dinner with my friend Claire at a local Chinese/Japanese restaurant in town then going out somewhere or another! Love me some sushi :)

Do you always get Chinese/Japanese food on New Years Eve? My family and I always do! I do not really know the real reason why it is so popular on New Years Eve...but it is! Do you?

See you all next year in 2010 ;)

Yes to babysitting!

Wednesday, December 30, 2009

Hello lovies! Happy Humpday :) Hope your Wednesday has been good thus far!

I am writing this post from my new iPhone so bear with me! It is a bit harder and takes longer to post than on my laptop! But I must say I loveeee my iPhone! Any of you beauties out there own iPhones and if you do how do you like them?!

Today my aunt texted me to babysit and I immediately responded back within seconds to say YES!! I love babysitting, especially these cousins in particular because they are a bit older so they are easier to watch, and they pay very well ;) Well I wouldn't even say I watch them (well I do!) but ya know what I mean! We relax and play games like guitar hero and/or Wii! My cousin loves to bake so I am sure she will bribe me into baking something! I will let ya know what she plans on making tonight!

Plus as a college student who loves to spend money I can never turn down a babysitting jig!

I will most likely be over here late tonight so I will have lots of time to catch up on your lovely blogs!

Have a great night! How are you spending your Wednesday night?

Last chance

Monday, December 28, 2009

Evening bloggies! Don't forget tonight is your last chance to enter my KIND giveaway! You have less than 3 hours and then I will be picking one lucky winner.

Here are some goods I picked up quickly at the grocery store this afternoon.

Let's see we have some naners, FSTG Multigrain & Sweet Potato, 2 Plain Chobanis, Amy's Non-Dairy Burrito, and Gala apples.

I went to Stop & Shop to get these goods since it was on my way home and can you believe they don't sell Oikos yogurt? I was bummin' because I had a coupon to use! I guess I will have to venture off the Shaw's later this week.

I also had 2 coupons for FSTG to use up by the end of the year. Since the year is coming to an end I made sure to put these coupons to good use! They did not have all the flavors on sale but I ended u buying Sweet Potato & Multigrain. I knew I wanted the Sweet Potato to try but I wasn't sure on which other flavor I wanted.
I wish they had the Buffalo, The Works, Cinnamon, or Chocolate...but they didn't :/ So I ended up buying the Multigrain. I mean you can never go wrong with a multigrain chip!

Before I even could snap a pic of what I got at the store my younger sister already was snoopin' through the bags to see what I bought and helped herself to some Sweet Potato chips ;) She REALLY enjoyed the chips and said they were great! I can't wait to try them myself.

Alrighty chicas I am peacin out for the night and going to bed early since I have work tomorrow 10am-3pm. I wil be posting the winner of my giveaway tomorrow!

Happy Sunday

Sunday, December 27, 2009

Hello beauties! I hope you all had a great Holiday weekend so far :) I bet you all are sad Christmas is over as I am! Tomorrow most of you start work again...but not for me, I am still on winter break for another 3 weeks. Hollah!

Today was a very restful Sunday and I love days like today. I just hung around my house and spent the day with the fam.

I know I have not been posting a lot of my eats since I got home for break.
But like I said before I will try to get back to regular posting once the Holidays are over! I just wanted to enjoy the time I had at home with my family and the Holidays and take a little break from blogging! I hope you all understand! But do not fear because I have been eating lots of yummy foods ;)

I have been getting some comments regarding if I have switched over to a regular blog and not a recovery blog and my answer is definitely NOT! I just plan to incorporate more of my daily life as well as my recovery into my blog! I hope you will all like it

I hope you have a great end to your Sunday night. Tonight I will be playing Blokus (a fun board game, ever heard of it?) with my mom and sisters and watching Keeping Up with the Kardashians later!

Don't forget to enter my KIND giveaway! I will be picking a winner tomorrow :)

The Day after Christmas

Saturday, December 26, 2009

Happy December 26th! I hope you all had a great Christmas this year! I know I did :)

Once everyone left my house on Christmas Eve (which was close to midnight!) I put on my new pajamas my mom always gives us on Christmas Eve and hopped into bed for the night waiting for Santa ;)
We were all up in my house on Christmas morning by 8:15am because my youngest sister is still at that age where she is up at the crack of dawn and super excited! But none the less I was also pretty excited as well to open presents so my other sister and I both got up since she kept coming into our rooms telling us to get up!

It is a tradition that we always open our stockings first then open the presents!
Our stockings are always packed full with cute lil goodies.
Let's see I got some socks, undies, iTunes gift card, Burt's Bees (love), loafa, make up, perfume, lotion, hand sanitizer, and Panera & Subway giftcards. I don't think I will be running out of money any time soon with my $75 to Panera. I guess Santa really knows I adore Panera ;)

Then it was PRESENT TIME!
My mom "Santa" is so cute! She always puts our presents together with our names on them.
I must say I made out pretty well this Christmas! I must have been a good lil girl on Santa's list. So that is pretty much what your girl Jenna got this Christmas! The morning was filled with spending time with family and our new gifts!

My family and I usually go over to my dad's side for lunch and then my mom's side for dinner...but this year was different because of some family problems! Long story. We did not go over to my dad's side instead we just went over to my mom's side of the family early for lunch and dinner. Yeah, we were there for 8 hours, no biggie! What can I say, we are one big happy family! My mom's side of the family is very close and we see each other a lot more of each other than my dad's side.

I don't have any foodie pics but I will sure tell ya what I ate. Lunch was very late, there was prime rib, ham, caesar salad, mashed potatoes, corn, squash, rolls, and lots of other foods as well! My aunt Jackie is an amazing cook! My plate consisted of ham, mashed potatoes, a roll, and squash that was delicious I even went up for some seconds!

Once the rest of the fam came over it was PRESENT TIME! Instead of everyone having to buy presents for all the cousins, each family picks two or three kids to buy presents for. Yes I am still a kid so I am still included in the kid's grab ;) I got more perfume, a light blue Burberry scarf, and a Vera Bradley travel cosmetic bag. I was a happy camper :)

A little while later I was getting hungry for some dinner since it was near 8 o'clock. I had a ham sandwich on a toasted roll with some of my aunt's homemade mac & cheese, 'twas delicious!

The rest of the night was spenting laughing, talking, and having a great time with my family, the people I love so much! That is what Christmas is all about!

We finally left around 10pm and it was snowing! A white Christmas...kinda?! I was a tired girl after an awesome day so when I got home I snuggled up in my bed for the night!

What was your favorite gift you recieved on Christmas?
Mine is definitely my iPhone! I didn't even put it on my Christmas list and I still got it :)

Pretzel Candy Melts

Wednesday, December 23, 2009

Happy Humpday lovies! I hope your Wednesday is going well so far! Mine has been quite busy since Christmas is in 2 DAYS and my family is hosting Christmas Eve tomorrow night! So my household has been a bit crazy for the past few days, aka my mom running around like a mad woman. Oh and yes I twittered last night she lost her wallet yesterday while doing some last minute shopping :( I really wish she finds it or the person who finds it is a good samaritan and return it. It would be a great Christmas present! I am just hoping for the best!

Last night I mentioned I was going to make some Christmas treats so that is exactly what I did. While watching The Biggest Loser I made some pretzel candy melts! Have you ever heard of them? Well now ya have and I am going to show you how to make these quick and addicting treats ;)
All you need is 3 simple ingredients...
  • Pretzel Snaps
  • Candy Wafers
  • M & M's

Then using a baking sheet place as many pretzels snaps as you can on the baking sheet. Then top each pretzel snap with the candy wafers.Notice how OCD I am ;) I make sure I get the right amount of each color.Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees and place pretzel snaps with candy wafers on top into the oven for 1 minute and 30 seconds, no more or no less!Immediately after they come out of the oven place one M & M on top of each candy wafer. Press the M & M down softly until it touches the pretzel so they are nice and secure. This process must be done fairly quickly before the candy wafers begin to harden. This is what they should look life after! Notice I put the M & M's logo face up and I only put the green M & M's on the red candy wafers and the green M & M's on the white and red candy melts ;) I mean seriously you can't put a red M & M on a red candy melt, it just won't look pretty!

Once you finished topping the candy melts with the M & M's, place the baking sheets in the fridge or outside where it is cold for 5-10 minutes for them to harden. I usually just put them in the garage and then there good to go after a few minutes.
Then place them on a plate and serve! These pretzel candy melts are quick, cheap, and easy to make and they involve very little mess and clean-up!
I must tell you these are super addicting...beware!Being the great older sister I am I put the treats in red bags and tied them up with red and green ribbon for my sister to bring to her teachers for a Holiday present! Then I put the rest in a container and wrapped it up with ribbon for my sister to bring to her Holiday class party. Now a days with all the allergies in schools, they take it very seriously. It is not like when I was in middle school when you could bring in homemade cookies for the class with no problem. But things have changed and if you make anything homemade you must include ALL ingredients in the product. So I made sure to create a lil ingredient list for her to bring in as well!

The smell of Balsam & Cedar fills the air in my house through the Holidays!

Alright so there is the recipe to make pretzel candy melts! If you are looking for a dessert for the Holidays I highly suggest trying these! If you have any quesyions just lemme know :)

Have you ever had pretzel candy melts or anything similar to these before?

Oh yes and don't forget to enter my KIND giveaway! You have until next Monday to enter!

Hey y'all! Hope your Tuesday went well, mine was muy busy! I worked all day today and the mall was pretty busy. I work retail and Christmas is in 3 days, so you get the picture... I had to deal with lots of CRAZY last minute shoppers.

After five long hours of helping dads with power point slides their daughters printed out and with grandmas from Europe buying for their grandchildren I was free to go home and a nice lil package was waiting for me from

I can't wait to try the penne pasta and rotini!

My new love

Sunday, December 20, 2009

Well let me just say this morning I woke up to this...LOTS and LOTS of snow! I am pretty sure it marked the first OFFICIAL snow storm of the season. We definitely got over one foot of snow! Yes, that would be mi padre snowblowing the driveway in the bottom right hand corner!

Last night I went to the Natick Collection to do some ALL of my Christmas shopping with Claire. Okay so I know I mention her like everyday so I think I should let you all know that she has been my best friend since third grade and we pretty much hang out all the time, as if you couldn't already guess ;) She goes to American University so we only get to see each other when we are both home. So we hang out as much as possible! So if you are a new reader and are wondering who the heck I am talking about, I am talking about my bff!

Here is a pic of her, she is such a sweetheart and I love her. I hope she doesn't mind being on the blog, but I don't think she will ;)Here is the beautiful Christmas tree they have at the mall. The Natick Collection is a very very nice mall and if you live in the area or have not been yet I definitely recommend going there!

The trip to the mall was not bad at all and luckily we hit NO traffic! The mall was kind of crowded but that was to be expected considering it was the last Saturday before Christmas and the busiest shopping day of the year.

I must say the trip to the mall last night was a HUGE success. I got my mom a new Movado watch, my dad a brown Northface jacket, my sister perfume from Gilly Hicks, and my lil sister a shirt from Hollister and a maltese dog calender!

But I clearly did not buy gifts for everyone else, I had to treat myself to an early Christmas gift ;) I remembered yesterday I told you all how my bowls are just blah, so I knew what I wanted...a nice new beautiful bowl! I wanted to pop into Anthropologie just to look around and I came out with a lovely new bowl and a new favorite store!! We also ran into another one of our friends from high school, Jen! It was nice to see her :)

So I must say I have a new love to Anthropologie and I kind of want EVERYTHING in that store! I have made up my mind when I am older my whole appartment is going to be filled with beautiful stuff from there :) Can't wait!So here is my new bowl...I kid, I kid.

But no really, here it is! Isn't she a beauty?! It is called the In-The-Studio Bowl, a handcrafted of colorful earthenware, this vessel is playfully stamped with dashes and posies.

For breakfast this morning I knew I just had to use my new bowl, so a yogurt mess it was. I had Brown Cow Vanilla, Barbara's Original Puffins, another overriped banana, and a dollop of Teddie's smooth peanut butter with milk on the side.A lovely yogurt mess all mixed together after I ate a few bites :O

I think I am pretty much snowed in for the rest of the day. But nothing is better than snow, relaxing, Patriots, and Christmas tea!

How are you spending your Sunday?!
