Luck O' The Irish

Happy St. Patty's Day! I hope you all have had a splendid day so far. The weather just keeps getting better and better each day and I am lovin' it ;)Are you doing anything special and/or fun to celebrate?!This morning started off with a yogurt mess with Vanilla Brown Cow yogurt, Kashi Go Lean, sliced banana, and Crazy Richard's creamy peanut butter with milk on the side. Then I was off to my Intro. to Nursing class. My mid-morning snack was an OJ Naked Juice and a Fruit & Night Delight Kind bar. After my two afternoon classes I grabbed some lunch. I had a veggie burger with swiss cheese on toasted whole wheat bread, pretzels, an apple, and milk. Then I had to my weekly appointment with Karen which went alright! She told me I just need to continue on getting in ENOUGH calories each day! I also told her I am challenging myself more each day :)

I had service learning this afternoon at Girls Inc. for two hours which went well. I don't know if it is the nice weather or the fact today is Saint Patty's Day but everyone at school is acting cray cray ;) Gotta love college.Tonight for dinner I challenged myself and got something new! I got vegetable fried rice with chicken, a Harvest Oat dinner roll, and chocolate milk. It was delicious and I ate it with no regret or problem at all! I was proud of switching it up instead of getting the same old boring chicken, plain veggies, and roll.

Anyone watching Disney channels Luck of The Irish movie tonight?!
Admit it! I know some of you out there are! I always think of this movie when it comes to St. Patty's day.

Well tata for now my lil shamrocks ;) Have a great night!

I think Karen is right you need to work on getting more calories/enough cals in. Stepping in the right direction girl.

So awesome you do service learning, by the way!

I hope that you are having a great day, but I am hoping that by saying "alright" about your meeting, doesnt mean that you arent gaining weight?? I have a feeling it does and that makes me worried.

Does putting ENOUGH in caps mean that you are satisfied with doing the minimum? It's like you want to make sure all your readers know that your nutritionist said all you need are enough calories, not more, or less, or a variety, etc. BTW, it's easy to see that your smacks are less calories than a boost and cliff bar you used to eat....

Great job challenging yourself, that you should feel proud of.
I get a bit concerned when you write that your therapist only tell you to "make sure that you get enough calories" each day. Are you eating according to a more specific plan?
My nutrionist sat up a rather strict plan for me to gain weight, because I am still in a very critical situation regarding my weight, and that plan involves A LOT more food than you eat each day. It is hard, but it helps me to gain about 0.5 kilo each week, which is a comfortable weight gain for me.

Really proud of you - that you are able to challenge yourself positively and be proud of yourself is amazing!

Anon 5- by putting enough in all caps meant that i need to eat more food to gain weight.

Hedda- it was actually my nurse practiioner i was talking about and she was just telling me to make sure i stick to my meal plan given to me by my nutritionist and to make sure i eat enough calories per day.

You know every pound you gain.. you need to eat more to gain MORE! Every 5lb weight gain, I had to go back to my nutritionist to readjust my plan (AKA add more!) How often do you see your nutritionist? is there on on campus you could see?

Oh, my mistake then, I misunderstood and thought that your nutrionist only gave you the advice to make sure that you got enough calories.
Hope you have a good day,

Hedda :)
