Giselle

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope your weekend was a blast, as mine was! Last night I went to see Giselle at the BOSTON BALLET with my gal Carly! Let me tell you it was simply beautiful and I loved it!

Well there is actually a funny story to go along with this ;) So the show didn't start until 8pm so we left campus around 6:30, which was plenty of time because it only takes less than an hour to get to Boston from our school, so we were all set! We were talking, laughing, and rocking to jams on the radio until we got completely LOST! When I mean LOST...I mean LOST. We went through Boston and we were doing well but then her GPS (so tapped as Carly would say!) took us to a really bad section of Boston and to a totally different Washington Street than what we were really looking for!

So the time got closer and closer to 8pm and we were still in the car looking for the Boston Opera House. But after asking several people, using the GPS and blackberrys, and 45 minutes late to the show, we finally arrived at the Boston Ballet at the Opera House!

When we got in we missed the whole first act and we only got to see the second half :( Carly was really upset because it is her favorite ballet ever! But at least we got there and we got to watch the whole second act. The ballet was simply beautiful and I am so happy Carly invited me to go with her!

After the ballet was over we headed over to Carly's friend, Brit's apartment. Brit just turned 21 this past week so her boyfriend threw her a huge surprise party! We walked up with Brit to her appartment and right when she walked in all her friends surprised her. She was wicked excited and had no idea! Neither did Carly and I. We walked in thinking there would be a few people there, and there were soo many people all cooped up in this hot Boston appartment. The night was really fun but I went to bed fairly early because I had to get a good nights sleep because I had practice this morning. So I got my pillow and blanket and made a nice lil bed on the floor. Yup, your girl Jenna got to sleep on the floor! Lucky me. It actually wasn't that bad, I managed to get a few hours of sleep which was good.
The morning came and we snuck out around 8:30 to grab something to eat and head back to school. On the car ride home I had a Blueberry Stonyfield yogurt and a banana with Teddie's peanut butter with orange juice. I have learned to pack food when I go away just like I did today. I packed a yogurt, banana, and pb with me so I was all set. Then I bought an OJ at Starbuck's when Carly got her much need Pumpkin Spiced Latte ;) The only thing I forgot was my lil Kashi cereals :( I was mad because I didn't have any GRAINS for breakfast which wasn't very smart because I was super hungry and I had practice this morning! So I kind of panicked for a bit but I decided to have all of my OJ for extra carbs rather than just having half of it which was a smart decision on my part. But I would have liked to have my cereal instead!

We got back to school a little bit before 10! The car ride home seemed so quick because we DID NOT get lost. It took us a little less than a hour (which is how long it should take!) Right when I walked in my dorm room I went right under my blankets in my bed and layed down for a bit before prac at 11. I had a serving of nuts and a Boost right before practice for some extra energy. I definitely needed this snack before practice because I didn't have any grains for breakfast and I was kind of dragging because I was a bit hungry. The snack was a smart decision right before practice. It gave me energy and kept me fueled through practice.

A shower was sooo needed right after practice. I came right back to my room to shower, it felt so nice. Then I enjoyed myself to a nice lunch, a turkey whole wheat wrap with swiss cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes, pretzels, and an apple with milk.

I am currently watching the PATRIOTS tool on Baltimore ;) Go Pats! This afternoon is going to be VERY low key. I am going to lay down and watch the game and probs take a much needed nap after an eventful weekend!
Have a great rest of your Sunday!

I hate getting lost!
And I can totally relate to dragging without carbs in the AM--I need me some carbs for fuel!
