When you're sick...

When you're sick with the stomach bug the last thing you want to think about is food since you have no appetite what so ever and the thought of food just makes your stomach queeze :( To sum it up the stomach bug is no fun.

Yesterday morning I woke up feelin' much better than I did Wednesday (that's for sure). I stuck to a wicked bland diet of simple carbs and stayed away from all sorts of dairy products and heavy foods.

As I am currently trying to recover from ED and gain weight getting the stomach bug was the last thing my body needed. Since I am at a low body weight and BMI my body cannot afford to get sick because it will be very hard to fight off the sickness. So I made sure I took every precaution to take care of myself in order to recover from this sickness ASAP.

My boring eats from yesterday included...This morning I woke up feeling much better! Still not 100% but pretty close. Since it had been nearly 48 hours since I last "tossed my cookies" I thought my stomach would be able to handle dairy products once again and what better way than to start my morning with 2% STRAWBERRY BANANA Chobani yogurt! This was my FIRST time ever trying 2 % Greek yogurt. This was definitely a challenge for me since I am used to my non-fat Greek yogurt. I legit bought this yogurt nearly two weeks ago and this morning I was finally brave enough to eat it!The 2% yogurt totally beats non-fat yogurt in the texture department. It was so much creamier and I loved the mix of strawberry and bananas together! I will no longer avoid the 2% yogurt just because my ED tells me they are just so called "wasted fat" that my body does not need...but in reality my body does need fat! I will definitely be purchasing this yogurt again :)

I also broke open a new jar of Teddie's Smooth peanut butter. It was a long time since I last had Teddie's and was happy to be re-united again.Today's weather is supposed to be super HOT and close to the 90's! Bring it on summertime and Happy Friday everyone!

Hey boos! Long time no talk but have no fear because I am back ;)

According to Kesha, wake up in the morning feeling like P-Diddy...well unfortunately that was so not the case for me :( Ever since yesterday afternoon I had wicked bad stomach aches and was up all night long. Then this morning I thought I was feeling a lil better and had the usual yog mess for breaky (which probably wasn't the smartest decision on my part) because in less than two hours it all came back up and out the rear end...TMI?!
So let's just say these have been my new best friends all day long: Gatorade, soup, and pretzels. That's pretty much all my stomach can handle right about now since I have barely any appetite now (boo!) and when I think of eating anything else I feel like throwin' up just thinking about it :/

I have been resting on the couch all day watching movies and doing sudoku puzzles. I watched Dear John this afternoon and it was a great movie!

So since I have been laying low all day I decided this would be a great opporunity to post!
Tried the new (to me) Multi-Grain Cheerios with 5 different whole grains.

I have consumed plenty of yogurt messes per usual as you will see...
Yogurt messes topped with TJ's almond butter just always hit the spot ;)I think that was enough pics of my AB yogurt messes, I think you get the point that I love AB!yog messes obvs have to be mixed up or it is not a yog mess...duh!

OIAJ
have been consumed as well.
I also tried the Dunkin Donuts Egg White Veggie flatbread with cheese for breaky one morning when I was on the go.This flatbread was quite tasty and I would definitely have it again in the future.Kind Fruit & Nut Delight barTurkey, american cheese, and apple slices on whole wheat bread paniniedLoaded turkey Subway with swiss cheese and tons of veggiesGrilled chicken wrap with lettuce & tomatoes along with some chips that I had in between my cousin's dance recitals.

Last week my mom, grandma, and myself went out to lunch and decided on Ruby Tuesday's. I think since I have been home, all three of us have been going out to lunch at least once a week together! Loves it.This would be the NEW Asian Salmon Spinach Salad: Garden-fresh spinach topped with slow cooked salmon, adamame, black beans, carrots, chopped egg, and sliced cucumbers. Topped with sesame seeds and wonton strips along with sesame-peanut dressing.

I don't know why I haven't been to Ruby Tuesday's in so long time since there is one right up the street from me! I totally forgot how much I like it there and after having this salad I will definitely be back again soon ;) Actually a few days after we went my mom wanted to go again because she LOVES the salad bar. They have a pretty bomb salad bar I must say and if you haven't checked out RT then I highly recommend you do.

Nothing is more better than being home to enjoy home cooked meals by my mom ;)Mom's homemade meat & spinach lasagna
Mom's cheeseburgers topped with american cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes Rustic Veggie pizza
Taco night!Summertime BBQs! Trader Joe's Chicken Vindaloo Veggies and white chicken with a vindaloo curry sauce served over steamed rice. Overall I enjoyed this meal and it had a great spicy kick to it in the curry sauce.

On the other hand this Red Curry Chicken Kashi frozen meal was not a big winner for me, it was just okay and I probably wouldn't buy this particular frozen entree again as I like some others much more. There was something my tastebuds just really did not like in this meal but I could not pin point what exactly it was?! Chicken breast with fire-roasted sweet potato, bok choy, red peppers, bamboo shots and kale served over pilaf and topped with zesty Thai red curry sauce.

Well that's what I got for ya on this Humpday evening. I am now off to drink a Dunkins Orange Coolata and chill out on the couch for the night. A girls gotta keep hydrated! I just hope I will start to feel better soon!

It's summertime!

Hollah atchya and Happy FRIDAY! I hope you have been enjoying summer thus far because I know I have! I have been busy working, relaxing, and taking day trips, I think that is what summer is all about! Oh yes and of course I have been eatin' good food as well ;)

Breakfast has of course been lots of yog messes! Since I nanny in the AM I tend to bring my breakfast meals with me and yogurt messes are perfect and easy to pack up.
Yesterday morning I broke open my new jar of Trader Joe's Almond Butter!Holy yum! This almond butter was very creamy which I love because I was able to drizzle it all over my yog mess and it tasted exactly like I was eating almonds! Why haven't I tried this AB before is beyond me! So I just had to have it again this morning ;)

I have been taking a lot of day trips recently which have been super fun! Last week I went to SIX FLAGS with my aunt, uncle, cousins, and sister. I knew it was going to be a very hot and long day filled with tons of walking so I made sure to pack snacks for the day. I had to keep myself fueled throughout the day.
pretzels, pear, almonds, Kashi Chocolate Caramel Crunchy! bar.Lunch at the park was a turkey sandwich with a sweet granny smith apple and unpictured pretzels.

Yesterday afternoon I went to the Red Sox game with my dad :) Even though they lost it was a great game and it was a beautiful day to spend in the ballpark!
Yawkey Way! Fenway Park is by far the greatest ballpark there is, hands down!view from our seatsLunch at the ballpark was a huge turkey wrap with cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes along with a bag of Miss.Vickie's chips. The other day I got a lil something something from Larabar! Even though the NEW flavors don't come out until July they were kind enough to send me some early!! So excited to try them...Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Chip Brownie, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, and Carrot Cake. Thank you so much Larabar :)

Since it is summertime you know what that means...lots and lots of barbeques. The past 3 weekends I have gone to different bbqs but I ain't complainin'. After all it is sweet summertime :)

barbeque chicken wing, fruit salad, pasta salad, and a bun.I tried this Eggplant Parmesan from Trader Joe's.I have never had eggplant parmesan before but it was good and I loved all of the cheesey goodness on top.I also had yet another Trader Joe's frozen meal. I think I am becoming quite addicted to TJ's ;) I forget what exactly this meal was called but it is a winner in my book. It is brown noodles mixed with tons of veggies and has a nice spicy kick to it. It's back...yes the Lemon Poppyseed & Chicken salad at Panera Bread. This salad just screams SUMMERTIME to me and I just knew I had to have it along with a fresh baguette.

I know a lot of you have been wondering how I am doing recovery wise. I will be honest with you and I am just doing OK. I have been meetin with my therapist weekly and my nutritionist every other week and I am working well with both of them which I am happy about! I can't afford to keep living my life with ED. It is so NOT worth it and I hate the feeling of depriving myself, not recovering, and not being able to live my life :) As my dad's favorite motto to me lately has been "JUST DO IT!" and that is what I have been trying to do :)

I am off to get ready for the day and then I am going out to eat with my mom and Grammy yet again and then nannying later this afternoon!

Happy Friday and enjoy the weekend!
