I feel obligated

Hey loves and Happy Thursday!

One thing that has been on my mind lately is my blog and how often I post. As you all know I post EVERY single day and I feel like I am obligated to post every single day. I know this is so not true but I feel like in order to be a good blogger I must post everyday. So I am debating whether or not it would be better for me to post every few days or whenever I want, rather than feeling obligated posting everyday. I should enjoy blogging and I shouldn't feel like it is necessary everyday!

Since you are all my readers, what are your thoughts on this?!

So onto my eats for the day.
Even though I went to bed rather early last night, getting up this morning was rough. I just wanted to lay in bed for a few more minutes but I knew I had to get up and get ready for the day.
But breakfast was defs a motivation to get outta bed. I had the usual yog mess with Vanilla Brown Cow yogurt, Kashi Go Lean, banana, and PB & Co. DCD with milk on the side. All mixed up! Then I was off to classes for the morning. In between my classes I had a cold slushy frozen chocolate milk (that I left in the freezer last night) and a Nut Delight Kind Bar.Lunch this afternoon was a turkey & swiss wheat wrap, Original PopChips, a pear, and milk.I now have officially tried all flavors of PopChips! And I must thanks the Popchips company for sending me all of them to try. I loved all the flavors and I can't wait to buy some in the future. Although I must say my favorite is the barbeque ;) I like the tangy taste. While I was writing my Humanities essay this afternoon I snacked on a Harvest Apple Cinnamon Crisp Power Bar. I don't know what was with me but my fingers just started typing away and in no time I was done with my essay and I it came out pretty good! Dinner later tonight was a Turkey Cutlet with Bruschetta Topping, Steamed veggies, mashed potatoes, one large Harvest Bun, and milk.

There ya have it, my Thursday eats. I am gonna shower up and get some work done and later have my Chocolate milkshakeee! Night :)

Do any other bloggers ever feel obligated to blogging?!

  1. I definitely sometimes feel the pressure to blog, but I really try to focus on the fact that I do it for myself and to meet people with similar interests. And if someone expects me to post more or differently then I do, then they don't have to read it.

  2. I'd say blog whenever you want to! I am a bad blogger. I just have a hard time organizing my thoughts into posts...so I don't post often. I am hoping to get better! I enjoy reading your posts and I am happy to say I tried my first yogurt mess tonight!!! It was so good...I will definitely be making more! Thanks!

  7. Kristyn- the regular power bar are good as well, they at a lot more dense and chewier. But today I had the harvest power bar which are great as well, they are filled with oats and are a little more lighter than the energy power bars! Hope that helps :)

  9. I've definitely felt obligated to post but I've just decided that I dont need to do it everyday. I want to post when I have something to share or say and some days I just dont have either! I'm a full time student and sometimes I'm way too busy or just have nothing new to post about. I still check out my fave blogs and comment though!

Dont feel obligated!! Post whenever you want. It's important to enjoy your blog!

  10. Hmm.. sometimes i do feel obligated, after i do my daily reads and realize that my fellow bloggers blog everyday, however, i tend to go through periods where i'll blog pretty much every day, and then weeks were ill only blog a couple times...it also depends on how busy i get!
don't feel obligated, blogging is all for the fun, just do as you please :)
i love reading your blog though!

  11. Blogging when you're haviing a tough time going through something is really difficult - you're struggling inside and feel like you're on display. On one hand, it's totally fine to take a break because obviously blogging is a hobby for most people and your readers/friends will be there when you get back, on the other hand it's nice to stick to something normal and a part of your routine when you're feeling like everything else is crazy. Do what feels right for you doll!

  12. i love love love harvest power bars.. they like fuel a workout so great! it is awesome

i think you should blog only when you want to! i feel like i should too.. or feel the need to comment even though in my best interest I should not be (kind of like now) but it is something you should do only when you feel like it!

  13. much as i enjoy reading your blog, i feel you should only blog when you feel like it, when it becomes an obligation, it is no longer a hobby. how ever, most importantly, do as you wish, perhaps, that's why i fail at blogging :) behind your decision all the way! :)

  14. i never feel obligated to make a post because i love posting but before i felt the need to take a picture of everything i ate but now i dont. my blog is not just a food blog so i dont care if someone doesn't see my handful of raisins or if i popped a grape in my mouth while i opened the fridge.

  16. I think that blogging less can actually result in less readers. I know as a blog reader that I like to read people's blogs that update often. So if you are willing to part with some readers, then I definitely think blogging less might be good for you!

  17. I think blogging shouldn't be an obligation UNLESS posting your eats everyday will help you being accountable. I know you mentioned that before, so please think about that before making your choice.
Good luck, keep pushing and be strong!

  21. I know what you mean--and I also know how for me, posting less does mean less readers. I think it's important to keep the blog fun and for you though, not to worry too much about readership. I nkow this week with my spring break, I've only posted a few times but I feel like that's okay--i've been busy and having fun doing other things! :D

  22. i am a firm believer that you should post when you want. if you feel obligated, your heart will not be in your post and it will just be a waste :) nobody will be mad if you take a day or two off! or even a week off! blogging is meant to be fun. have a great weekend, beautiful!

  23. i posted daily for a while and eventually it made the blog frustrating and not fun. so i totally understand why you might feel the same way! at the same time, if you think that posting keeps you accountable and that you need that...maybe you can just take photos of your meals and have a wordless post of just food photos? it might not be very interesting i guess but it might be important to you!

  24. I know that as a nursing major (because i'm a nurse) it's utterly impossible to post every day. I can understand how you feel obligated. I do enjoy reading your blog though and I think that you should post as often as you'd like. :)

  25. I think you should blog when you feel like it and when you have the time and energy to do it. After all it is your blog, right? ;p
And to battle an eating disorder takes so much energy, so it is quite understandable if you don't always feel like blogging.

PowerBar is good, but try the bars from Taste of Nature, they are Heaven, haha ;)

  27. Hey Jenna,
I just wanted to let you know that the Milkshakes that you have been having are lower calories than your boosts. I am sure you know that and that is why you chose them. I hope you go back to Boost. Please take care of yourself.

  28. lindsay- i am glad you are concerned about this!
like i said the other day on wednesday i ran outta boost and i need to get some more! so in my AM snack i have a bottle of chocolate milk which is pretty equivlanet to the boost. but at night time i have a creamy chocolate milkshake which does have more calories, fats, and carbs than a boost! i don't know why you think they were less?! lemme know!
